Frequently asked questions

No - this isn’t gated by degree.

EEE, ECE, ETE, CSE and Applied Physics students can start from year one. Diploma holders and career-changers from any background are just as welcome.

Meet the assumed-knowledge bar listed on a course, and you’re in it - whatever year you’re actually in.

It depends on the track, on purpose.

  • Industrial Attachment - 35-70 hrs over 1-2 full-time weeks
  • Foundation & Specialization - 30-52 hrs, spread across evenings/weekends
  • Advanced - 32-40 hrs - built for people who can already move fast

No - everything runs on our lab workstations.

Our facility is already loaded with the same tools working engineers use. Nothing to install, license, or buy - just show up and sit down.

A certificate - plus something more specific.

Longer courses map to a named credential - SVA Functional Verification, Innovus Implementation System - the kind of line a hiring manager recognises on sight.

Several courses also send you home with a real working artifact. That’s evidence, not just a certificate.

Smaller rooms, real tools, from day one.

  • Small cohorts - an instructor is genuinely on the floor while you work
  • Real tools immediately - production software from session one or two, not the final week
  • Career coaching built in - portfolio input, interview talk-throughs, which lane is actually hiring

Depends on where you’re starting from.

  • Foundation (F1-F3) - start here - no VLSI background assumed
  • Specialization (S1-S5) - pick a lane: verification, RTL, analog, simulation, implementation
  • Advanced (A1-A5) - go deep: UVM, signoff, custom layout, tapeout
  • Industrial Attachment (I1-I3) - 1-2 week guided sprints, outside the ladder

Already working in the industry? You likely don’t need Foundation at all - go straight to the Specialization or Advanced course that closes the specific gap: need UVM → A1, timing/DFT signoff → A2, physical implementation → S5, custom layout → A3.

Start with F1 if you’re not sure yet.

It exists to make that call on evidence, not a guess.

  • Lean digital - F2 → verification (S1) or RTL/implementation (S2, S5)
  • Lean analog - F3 → schematic (S3), simulation (S4), layout (A3)

Nothing here is permanent - most people adjust after their first Specialization course.

Prerequisites are advisory, not a locked gate.

Already know what a prerequisite teaches? Start further along. What you can’t skip is the knowledge itself - arriving without it just means catching up instead of learning.

Overwhelmingly hands-on. On purpose.

Even the shortest course gets you simulating or laying out a circuit within the first few sessions.

Industrial Attachment pushes furthest - about two-thirds of the week is spent building a project you take home.

Yes - production tools, not academic substitutes.

Virtuoso, Spectre, Xcelium, Genus, Innovus, Tempus, Modus, Assura, PVS, Quantus.

If a course lists a tool, that’s the exact version practising engineers run every day.

A certificate - plus, often, real proof of work.

Most Specialization and Advanced courses map to a named credential you can list by title.

Industrial Attachment and several others also hand you a take-home artifact: a working RTL block, a DRC-clean layout, a tapeout-ready GDSII.
